Since its opening in 1990, Sea Trail Resort's Byrd course has offered golfers of all ability levels the chance to prove their golfing skills on its well-maintained fairways and greens. The Byrd course was designed, and named after, the prominent golf course architect, Willard Byrd. The par 72 course is designed to test many golfers, yet give them an enjoyable day on the greens. Novices will cover 4,697 yards from tees to greens; while experts will be have the chance to prove themselves, as they cover 6,750 yards.

Spectacular and strategic, the Willard Byrd golf course at Sea Trail Resort undoubtedly warrants each award it collects. Water - both large and small - is found throughout the course. In fact, the lakes are typically fourteen to twenty acres. Never-ending obstacles, ranging from beautiful white sand traps to expansive mounds and tall North Carolina pine trees guard the greens and line the fairways.

Sunset Beach is situated between the lovely beaches of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and the historic town of Wilmington, North Carolina. In fact, Sunset Beach, itself, has been voted the #1 barrier island on the coast of North Carolina. The Village of Sunset Beach is great for visitors to meander through the shops and take in the exquisite scenery. There are many activities for golfers and non-golfers at Sunset Beach. The Intracoastal Waterway is perfect for day and evening cruises, the Ingram Planetarium is perfect for educating people on the stars and galaxies, walking on tranquil beaches, fishing, and strolling through museums are just an example of the attractions.
